Majima is known in Sotenbori as the "Lord of the Night" for making the Grand so popular in such a short amount of time. However, he is secretly a former yakuza who is kept under surveillance and treated as a "pet" -- one who can be put down at any moment.

Previously a member of the Tojo Clan, Majima found himself defying a direct order from his superiors in hopes of saving his sworn brother, Taiga Saejima, who the clan had left for dead. But the orders of the yakuza are absolute - and Majima was locked in a black site and tortured, only to be let out to serve in the purgatory of civilian life.

Majima continues to manage the Grand, unable to find a way to return to the Tojo Clan. That is until one fateful day... he is assigned a dark mission that will guarantee his return. To kill someone with his own two hands...

Sagawa is the owner of the Grand Cabaret, and the one who holds Majima's leash. Sagawa makes sure Majima stays in line in Sotenbori and holds the authority to kill him if he feels the need to. He finds Majima in his care after Futoshi Shimano, Majima's former boss and Sagawa's sworn brother, hands him the reigns.

Sagawa doesn't put on the appearance of a yakuza as he struts through Sotenbori's night life like a playboy, but he is a dangerous man who is not above violence when things don't go the way he planned.

Sagawa gives Majima the assassination contract that will allow Majima to return to the yakuza. But little does Sagawa know, this order is about to spiral out of control and lead Majima toward a fate larger than he could ever realize.

An employee of the massage parlor, Hogushi Kaikan, located near the edge of Sotenbori. Although blind, she uses her skills as a massage therapist to overcome her handicap and make a living.

She lives quietly on the edge of Sotenbori, untouched by the modern and fast-paced city. However, she soon finds herself caught in the bloody back and forth of the yakuza, for reasons unbeknownst to her...

The owner of the massage parlor, Hogushi Kaikan, where the blind woman works. Despite his terrifying appearance, he is a very friendly and caring man. His skills as an acupuncturist have earned him the nickname of "God Hand".

However, his sharp eyes are that of a hardened man and no ordinary civilian. He seems to be hiding something he hopes no one will discover...
